Annual Walk With Me Family Fun Walk & Kids Festival goes virtual

From Monday, March 23, through Saturday, March 28, Southwest Human Development will host its 12th annual and first virtual Walk With Me Family Fun Walk and Kids Festival to benefit the nonprofit’s Easterseals services for young children with disabilities.

Walk With Me supporters can engage with others virtually by posting social media pictures of themselves walking the event’s usual 1.25 miles for kids with disabilities on the treadmill, around their neighborhood or in whatever way they choose, including the hashtag #WalkGoesVirtual and tagging Southwest Human Development social media accounts.

“Walk With Me is a fun event for our community to help support children and families throughout our state,” said Ginger Ward, CEO of Southwest Human Development. “The virtual format creates even more opportunity for people everywhere to help children with disabilities.”

Supporters can win Disneyland tickets by starting Facebook fundraisers for Walk With Me. Southwest Human Development will give away 4 Park Hopper passes (passes valid through 2021) to the individual with the most unique donors and another 4 passes to the individual with the most total money raised on their Facebook fundraiser by Saturday, March 28.

In 2019, Walk With Me raised more than $132,000 for the early childhood nonprofit. Some of this year’s sponsors include the Arizona Coyotes Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, Safeway, Lockton, Mortenson, Delta Dental of Arizona, Mountain America Credit Union, Homesite, American Furniture Warehouse and many more.
