How Parents/Caregivers Can Support Young Children During Uncertain Times

ONLINE TRAINING: In response to the COVID-19 crisis, this training has been adapted to an online format vs. in-person training. Zoom video and audio conferencing dial-in information will be emailed to registered participants the week of the training.

The COVID-19 pandemic has added unexpected challenges and worries for many. This workshop is designed for parents and caregivers of young children and will consider potential impacts of the pandemic on children and their families. We will explore how parents can support young children through a trauma-informed, relationship-based perspective with an emphasis on the importance of safety, self-care, and connection in supporting children during difficult and uncertain times.

It is recommended that participants attend Trauma-Informed Care: Understanding the Impact of Trauma on Young Children prior to attending Supporting Young Children During Uncertain Times.

Hosted by Southwest Human Development, this training is facilitated by Molly Strothkamp, MSW, LCSW, IMH-E, child therapist at the Good Fit Counseling Center. Registration is limited and closes 48 hours prior to each training. Questions? Please contact Molly Strothkamp at mstrothk@swhd.org.
