Molly Strothkamp — A Steady Heart Behind Our Mental Health Work

For more than two decades, Molly Strothkamp has been a guiding light at Southwest Human Development. As Senior Program Manager for Mental Health Services in the Birth to Five Center of Excellence, Molly has spent 26 years quietly helping to transform lives, with empathy, expertise, and a whole lot of heart.

She first joined SWHD after spotting a job ad in a newspaper (yes, a real paper!). What drew her in was the chance to support children and families through early childhood mental health. What made her stay? The people. The mission. The relationships.

Molly believes that helping children starts with supporting their caregivers, and that healing begins with connection. Whether she’s mentoring team members, guiding families through difficult moments, or simply checking in with a kind word, Molly brings warmth to everything she does.

Outside of work, she finds her peace spotting wild horses on scenic drives, a reminder of the quiet strength she brings every day.

We’re so grateful for the way Molly leads, with grace, wisdom, and a deep belief in the power of relationships. Our community is stronger because of her.
