Donor Spotlight: Why Monthly Giving Just Makes Sense

When generosity comes from the heart, it shows – and for monthly donor Jesus, that generosity is personal. As a Fiscal Analyst with the Maricopa County Community College District, Jesus works with numbers all day. But when it comes to giving back, it’s the impact, not the math, that drives him.

“My girlfriend worked at Southwest Human Development for years, so I saw the difference they make up close,” he shares. That connection inspired him to become a recurring donor, supporting the Birth to Five Helpline and Early Literacy Programs – services that remind him of the support his own family once received.

“Giving monthly is easy, and I know it helps Southwest Human Development plan ahead and keep their programs strong,” he says. “Plus, the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit means I get most of it back at tax time. It’s a win-win.”

For Jesus, being a donor isn’t just about money, it’s about community.
He’s volunteered, met families and staff, and continues to show up because he believes in the mission. His advice? “Give what you can. If it’s not money,
give your time. Either way, you’re making a real difference.”
