Let’s Talk!
Learn ways to build your child’s brain in a Let’s Talk! parent group
Southwest Human Development is partnering with the TMW Center for Early Learning + Public Health at the University of Chicago to share an educational opportunity with local parents: the Let’s Talk! program. Let’s Talk! is a 10-week education research study for parents with children ages 0-3 that teaches ways to support children’s development.
Southwest Human Development will host Let’s Talk! online sessions in English and Spanish. Participating parents will complete 10 weekly online group sessions facilitated by a Southwest Human Development educator, with 12-15 other parents. Each session lasts about 75 minutes and during the sessions, parents will view educational material backed by science, participate in activities and discussions and complete some surveys. In between sessions, parents will complete 20-minute 1-on-1 coaching sessions with their facilitator to practice strategies and set goals for themselves and their children.
Parents will be compensated up to $300 (in gift cards) for completing all parts of the research study. Home laptops and Wi-Fi can be loaned for online sessions.
