Gingerbread Kids Holiday Gift Drive brings in gifts for nearly 1,000 Valley children

Each year, our individual and corporate supporters from around the Valley join us to achieve a simple common goal: Ensuring children in need receive holiday gifts during this special time of year.

Southwest Human Development’s annual Gingerbread Kids Holiday Gift Drive started with only one corporate sponsor and gifts for 50-100 children in our Kinship Care and Adoption program. Now in its ninth year, the drive has the support of 25 partners and will provide gifts for 968 children in 11 of our programs!

Not all families can afford holiday gifts, so the gifts delivered through the holiday gift drive will help bring joy to children in low-income areas. The drive is also an opportunity for all kinds of groups to give back during the holidays through gift donations, financial contributions and volunteering.

Board Member Karen Ramos and her community group deliver gifts to our Kinship Care and Adoption program team.

“This drive is a great way for everyone to support children in need,” says Jake Adams, chief development officer at Southwest Human Development. “The growing support from local businesses, churches and individual donors each year shows that generosity can truly make a difference for children here in the Valley.”
