Donate to make an impact for Arizona kids this #GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this year’s #GivingTuesday will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 27, and will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.

Each year, thousands of donors make a difference in the lives of Arizona children and families on #GivingTuesday by donating to Southwest Human Development. Executive Council Charities will multiply donations made at swhd.org/givesday by 25 percent.

There are so many ways to give back including registering to volunteer, utilizing the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit, shopping and giving, making a donation and more.

“Your financial contribution on Giving Tuesday will impact young children in our community,” said Jake Adams, chief development officer at Southwest Human Development. “By supporting kids in the early years, you offer them a better start in life and a great chance to be successful now and in the future.”

#GivingTuesday inspired millions of people to give back and support the causes they believe in since its inception in 2012. More than $300 million was raised online to benefit a tremendously broad range of organizations, and much more was given in volunteer hours, donations of food and clothing, and acts of kindness.

“Giving Tuesday is a reminder of the impact that you can have to support the youngest, most vulnerable children in our community,” said Adams. “By donating today, you will help to set the positive trajectory of a young child’s life.”

Choose how your tax dollars are spent, #GivingTuesday donations are eligible for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit. You can receive up to $400 back on your state taxes as an individual or up to $800 when filing married/joint. Itemizing your taxes is not necessary, and you can claim this credit in addition to other foster care and public or private school tax credits. Southwest Human Developments Arizona Charitable Tax Credit QCO Code is 20390. You’ll need this number when filing your state taxes!
