Back-to-School Supply Drive

Help children begin the school year ready for success!

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is tim-gouw-KigTvXqetXA-unsplash-1-1024x685.jpgSouthwest Human Development is hosting its annual Back-to-School Supply Drive to help children in need begin the school year with all of the tools they need for academic success.

The average spending per child in K-12 in 2023 was $597 and is likely to increase in 2024. With multiple children in many families, that is a lot of pressure on family budgets already spread thing by inflation.

For families in low-income neighborhoods, the costs are simply not realistic. Donating new school supplies to children in disadvantaged communities will make an impact on their ability to begin the school year ready to learn.

One of the easiest ways to help is to donate at the link below and use our dedicated, online shopping cart to donate pre-filled backpacks, build their own backpack or make a financial contribution. Any school supplies donated through this page are sent directly to Southwest Human Development for distribution to participating families.

Anyone interested in hosting a drive at their location can email [email protected] to receive more information and arrange for donation bins.
