Woodworkers Source picks Little Free Library winners

Thanks to the Little Free Library building contest at Woodworkers Source, Southwest Human Development received more than 20 new libraries to place in Arizona communities.

IMG_0627Talented woodworkers from around the state took on the challenge to put a creative spin on the small bookcases and the results were colorful and imaginative. Twenty-three libraries were submitted to the contest and were featured for a week at Woodworkers Source’s Phoenix location, 18115 N. Black Canyon Highway. Store visitors had the opportunity to view the projects and cast a vote for their favorites. After the votes were tallied, Little Free Library builders and friends gathered to see the winning libraries.

Many of the Little Free Library contest entrants decided to donate their projects to Southwest Human Development, who will install the libraries in a low-income communities and stock them with children books.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the contest and congratulations to the winners!
