Family Volunteer Day is almost here! Join us Saturday, Nov. 23!
Family Volunteer Day falls on Saturday, Nov. 23, this year and you’re invited to join in on the fun!
Family Volunteer Day, sponsored by Disney and Points of Light, is a chance for parents to demonstrate for their kids the importance of giving back to their community. Community volunteering also allows parents to engage in conversations about social issues and community needs.
In addition to helping the community and showing children the value of helping others, Family Volunteer Day is a bonding opportunity. Doing meaningful work together is a positive parent-child interaction, which can have a powerful impact on children’s emotional well-being, problem-solving skills and future capacity for relationships.
This Family Volunteer Day, join Southwest Human Development to help children in low-income areas growing up right here in Arizona. Volunteer projects will vary to engage volunteers of all ages.
We’d love to have your help for what is sure to be a fun-filled day! Learn more and register at swhd.org/fvd.
BONUS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: There are other opportunities to get involved in the community this season, like volunteering to sell 50/50 raffle tickets at the Arizona Coyotes game on November 18. Learn more and sign up at swhd.org/yotes.
