New features and upgrades to swhd.org

Providing easily accessible information to parents, caregivers, professionals and early childhood advocates is one of Southwest Human Development’s core values when serving Arizona children in need. To better share information, the agency enhanced the swhd.org website to provide online visitors with a more user-friendly experience.

The website’s most prominent new function is an auto-translate feature in the site’s top-right header that has the capability to translate the website into more than 100 languages. Each page of swhd.org will have the capability to be auto-translated, including individual program pages. Auto-translation is also available on the mobile version of swhd.org, accessed through the top-right navigation menu.

“Our programs serve such a diverse population of families and many of our programs are offered in a variety of languages,” said Ryan Narramore, Southwest Human Development’s marketing and communications manager. “We felt it was important to make sure that each of our services were readily accessible and available in the language most familiar to the families who are looking for help.”

Southwest Human Development also updated the website’s platform to provide an enhanced user experience, which included optimizing swhd.org for speed, creating a 25 percent faster load time for its visitors. Updates were also made to the site’s main navigation menu to help quickly guide families and professionals to the content most relevant to them.
