Volunteer opportunities at Grand Prix of Scottsdale, Family Volunteer Day and more!

The weather is cooling down, which means that event season is heating up and exciting volunteer opportunities are on the rise. Help Arizona children in need while taking advantage of exclusive volunteer opportunities at 1920s-themed races, music festivals and more.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to meet new people, learn new skills and give back to the community. Southwest Human Development offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities for adults, teens and children of all ages.

Family Volunteer Day | September 16, 2017 | 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Thanks in part to a grant from the Build-A-Bear Foundation, Southwest Human Development is excited to present a fun opportunity to get your family involved in our work with Arizona’s children and families. Spooktacular Boo-Fest | October 20, 2017 | 3:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

St. Vincent de Paul Dream Center will partner with Southwest Human Development to host a fun-filled festival of literacy activities and games to encourage continued reading and exposure to literacy. ADAPT Shop Picnic | October 21, 2017 | 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Children with disabilities and their families who have utilized services from our ADAPT Shop will gather for a day of fun and activities. Lost Lake Music Festival | October 20 – 22, 2017

The Lost Lake Music Festival will feature more than 40 musical acts over three days on multiple stages. Volunteers will be working in a tent serving alcohol. Volunteers may attend the festival before or after their shift on the same day. Shifts will be four hours. Volunteers must be ages 19+. Steele Indian School Park, 300 E. Easterseals Golf Classic | October 25, 2017 | 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The Easterseals Gold Classic will benefit Easterseals Southwest Human Development and Easterseals Blake Foundation! Volunteers will be needed for tasks including set-up and registration, selling “mulligans,” heckling golfers at the heckle hole and more. McCormick Ranch Golf Club, 7505 E. Grand Prix Weekend | November 3 – 5, 2017

The Grand Prix of Scottsdale 1920s-themed weekend kicks off with the Gatsby Under the Stars Gala and wraps up on Sunday with a Vintage Kart Race around the heart of downtown Scottsdale.
