Our Head Start department is seeking a Facilities Specialist for our busy Early Head Start program to perform deliveries and skilled work of a routine nature involving the timely repair and maintenance of numerous buildings and facilities owned by Southwest Human Development.
The Facilities Specialist is responsible for some deliveries, maintenance as needed such as routine plumbing, roofing, plastering, carpentry, electrical, painting, and air conditioner maintenance, as well as ensuring the completion of a preventative maintenance and inspection schedule that ensures program prescribed adherence to program policy and procedures as well as local and national standards and licensing requirements.

HELPLINE/FUSSY BABY SPECIALIST, PART-TIME

We are seeking a part-time Helpline/Fussy Baby Specialist to be the first point of contact on our toll-free line providing individualized child development information and professional phone consultation for Arizona families with young children (ages birth to five). Additional responsibilities include time-sensitive data entry associated with incoming calls, maintaining up to date listings of resource/referral information and participating in marketing and outreach efforts.
The Birth to Five Helpline is a free service and covers a wide range of topics including health and nutrition, language development, discipline, getting ready for school, child development, sleep, colic (inconsolable crying), and early literacy.
When calling the Birth to Five Helpline, callers will also have access to the Fussy Baby Program (an affiliate of the Fussy Baby Network at Chicago’s prestigious Erikson Institute), which provides telephone and in some instances, home visiting support to help families navigate challenges associated with hard to soothe infants.
This position is offered part-time (20 – 30 hours per week) and is located at the agency’s main office in a professional yet causal environment. EOE AA

Our Training department is seeking to fill the following key position as we continue to build our Quality First! Program, Arizona’s first early childcare improvement rating system.
- Quality First Assessor - Conducts early childhood classroom observations to complete assessments using the ECERS/ITERS/FCCRS or CLASS. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in education, child or family development, social services or related field is required. Minimum of two years experience working as a teacher, trainer, or primary care provider in an early care and education setting with infants, toddlers and/or preschoolers preferably in early care and education settings. Statewide travel is required. English/Spanish bilingual preferred. Salary Range: 35K – 39K.
