Donate Now

As a non-profit organization, Southwest Human Development depends greatly on community support, and all contributions are appreciated.

Donations may be made to support the agency, a specific program, In Memoriam – to remember someone close to you by making a gift in their memory, or In Honor – a gift in honor of a special person or a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary.

If you would like to donate by check, please complete the Friends Donation Form and mail to the address below, or you can donate electronically by using our Secure Donation Form .

Every dollar you donate is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

United Way Donor Designation

Designate Southwest Human Development during your employer’s annual United Way Fund Drive. To designate Southwest Human Development as the recipient of your donation, simply use our agency identification number, 7043, on your sign-up form.

Matching-Gift Programs at Work

Find out if your employer has a matching gift program. Through matching gift programs, employers show community and employee support by “matching” the amount of your donation.

Leave a Legacy

Southwest Human Development is a proud partner of Leave a Legacy Arizona, a statewide effort to promote giving through wills and other estate planning methods. Leaving a legacy through your will, life insurance, or trust is a simple act with a lasting impact.

$200 Charitable Tax Credit

Each year Arizona taxpayers are entitled to a $200 tax credit on their state income taxes by making a donation to a qualifying non-profit organization like Southwest. For more information on how you and the children Southwest serves can benefit, call Laura Chasko at 602-266-5976.

Give Books

Donate books to the Reach Out and Read program, or sponsor a book drive at your workplace, church, or children’s school.

In keeping with Reach Out and Read’s philosophy that every child deserves high quality books, these guidelines will assist you with your donation.

  • Used books must be gently worn (covers and pages intact, clean and readable).
  • Our highest priority is books for children between the ages of birth to five years, however some books for older children are also accepted.
  • Books about sensitive issues like divorce, abuse or death cannot be accepted.
  • We also accept donations of new books.  ROR has a list of recommended titles to choose from, carefully selected to meet the needs of children served by Reach Out and Read.

To schedule a book drive or make a book donation, please contact Alan Taylor at (602) 266-5976 or ataylor@swhd.org.

Donate Items

Southwest Human Development gratefully accepts new and gently-used items for the children and families we serve. Gift cards are also appreciated. Please see our "wish list" of most needed items.
