As a Southwest Human Development donor, you have the power to help give children an optimal start in life with opportunities for a bright and positive future. For 30 years, we have worked to ensure that each child's earliest experiences and relationships establish the foundation for all future development - intellectual, social, emotional, physical and behavioral.
The growth of our programs, the families we touch and their success stories are only possible with the support of community members like you.
Specifically, your contribution will impact children and families through one or more of our 40 public and private programs and projects. Donations at all levels make a significant impact in the lives of the children and families we serve. These are a few examples of the effects of donations:
$35 - modifies a toy so a child with cerebral palsy can play
$50 - provides a child living in poverty with a library of 10 books and his parents with the training needed to help him build literacy skills and enter kindergarten ready to succeed
$150 - provides one hour of therapy to help a child who has been abused deal with his past trauma and learn to trust again
$600 - provides one month of speech therapy to help a toddler experience the thrill of using her words to make things happen
$1,500 - covers full medical and therapeutic team assessment for a child with very complex developmental or behavioral problems
$5,000 - obtains a speech-generating device for a child who is unable to speak
